Workin' IT!!!!!

One last post about my girls of 2008 - 2009. All year long our motto was 'Let's make IT happen." ' IT' symbolized many things. 'IT' meant a State Championship or a First Place Trophy. 'IT' meant winning and coming out on top, but what my girls need to understand it that 'IT' stood for other things too. 'IT' meant hitting it as hard as you ever have and doing your very best every time you performed. 'IT' meant giving it your all when there was no more to give. 'IT' meant being dedicated to the team, and representing Moses Lake with class and dignity and honor wherever we went. 'IT' happened for me and for that I am proud and grateful to be the coach of the Moses Lake Molahiettes. Thanks for making 'IT' happen this year for me.

You Girls ROCK!!!!

Almost........

State has come and gone. Yesterday was spent at the Yakima Sundome competing against 38 other teams. It has been a frustrating season with many difficulties, but the girls have been great!!!! After losing a girl the night before districts and not getting the scores we wanted, I went back to the drawing board. We changed all the formations and we added more, we added to the costumes, we put in more stunts and tricks and difficulty. We added more visuals and effects. We worked hard and built stamina!!!!! The girls performed AWESOME!!!!!! They did exactly what I hoped they do. They hit the numbers (with just a few mistakes) and they gave it ALL they could. They danced well, with lots of energy and personality. The crowd responded. BUT WE did not get the results we had hoped for. WE got 2nd in Drill. 2nd in Hip Hop (almost---minus a very large safety deduction). I honestly walked away from the whole experience being so PROUD of my girls. They couldn't have given ANY more. I couldn't have asked for any more. Sure we had hoped for 3 State Championships but the judges choose someone else....and we did all we could. It's best to aim for the stars and reach the moon, then aim for nothing and reach it.....
I love you Molahiettes!!!!

Let Them Eat Cake....

Yesterday was Emree's 1 month birthday. Happy Birthday!!! She wanted chocolate cake I guess, or at least a taste of it. Actually poor Emree has a cold, thrush and a very bad diaper rash. Don't you wish they came with manuals?

Emree enjoying a little tummy time on a quilt that I made. I have had a lot of fun making bracelets ( I think we counted 16....) and bows and quilts and designer wipes cases. Because truly doesn't every little girl need them?

Big Week!!

It was a great week. It was a busy week. We had lots of fun, and plenty to do. Lots of drill team rehearsals and dance rehearsals. It was my mother's 81st birthday. Jordan came home for the weekend. His best friend got married. Kenzie and the dance studio competed in Seattle at Spotlight. Kenzie went to the Sweetheart dance at school. She was on the 'court'. Easton was made a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. My niece Ann got home from a mission in Italy.

All our groups received Diamonds!!! This number took 2nd Overall.

There's always time for a Tyra moment

Kenzie on Sunday recreating the dance moment.....(only because I didn't get any pictures the night before).

Easton was ordained a teacher at the house by 'Pres. Baker', Bishop Bergeson and Jordan.

District Champions!

Saturday was districts for drill team.....we had a goal, to beat Pasco. Goal accomplished!!! It was an interesting day----Friday afternoon I had to remove one of my seniors and better performers from the team for breaking the athletic code. It was a real blow, to me, to the team, to the routines. I was disappointed, shocked, angry, frustrated and sad. Why can't these teenagers think of others before themselves? But the girls did the best they could and we gave it all we could give on that Saturday. For a team that's used to winning we wanted three first place trophies....we brought home one. WE have some work to do before State...but that's okay. We're up for the challenge. I was very proud of the girls. They took third in Hip Hop, second in Pom and first in Drill. The Drill routine was the highest score of the day beating 32 numbers!!! Combine ALL team scores we were the highest. I think that's a good day's work!!! (Now back to practice....)

Bravo!!!

Yesterday I went to the Discover play 'Annie' at the high school. About 20 kids that dance at the studio were in the production. They did an AWESOME job. Mrs. Hymes and Discover put on a wonderful play every year. What an amazing opportunity for the kids. Mrs. Hymes devotes 100's of hours to the kids and the community. Cassidy Earl was 'Annie' and she was adorable. It brought back so many memories when Kenzie and her friends were at Discover. They did 'Annie' one year as well. They have grown since then....(thanks for the memories!)
