Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve

Some famous words at BYU, a legacy. A great school, a wonderful tradition, a privilege to get in, an honor to attend, a worthy accomplishment to graduate from. I got to attend Danielle, Tyler and Lindsay's (my niece-in-law) graduation on Friday. It was a pleasure and I was so proud of all of them.

Happy Anniversary Honey!!!

Today is my 27th wedding anniversary!. Twenty seven years ago today I was sealed to my love in the Salt Lake CIty Temple by Reid's father Thurn Baker for time and all eternity. Five kids, one grandbaby, 6 homes, 4 minivans, too many dogs to count, lots of gray hair and wrinkles (and pounds) later we are still going strong. Today I am in Utah for Danielle and Tyler's graduation tomorrow, so we are seperated. It's hard to describe how much I love him and how lucky I was to find him. He's spiritual, kind, loving, caring, hard working, smart, sensitive and loyal. I can't wait to see what the next twenty seven years bring....

Top That...

It's been a great week. I have accomplished a lot but not too much. I was busy but not running around like a chicken with their head cut off. That in and of itself is something to celebrate. I had moments of peace and relaxation. I read my scriptures every morning. I cleaned off my desk. WE turned in our taxes. My grandbaby(and her parents) was here for Easter.

The only drill team I had was the end of the year banquet and the slide show worked. Congratulations to Karlee and Caitlynn-our new Lieutenants. No drill team gave me some much needed sleep.

Brad Earl got home and that mean's we are one friend, one week, one day closer to Quinn's return in November. I got a postcard, a picture and an email from Quinn. I remembered to write him back. Yesterday I had someone else clean my house (shameless but heavenly). Kenzie and I had pedicures.

I had lunch with a friend. I met with my drill team leaders to discuss the NEW year. I went to the Stake play (BRAVO). Today I took a 6 hour drive for a 3 hour meeting. The drive to Seattle is beautiful when the roads are clear and it's sunny, and it was...

There was a caravan of about 50 army tanks in a row. I felt safe. I got to listen to my music the whole way and sing at the top of my lungs, I snacked most of the way and had time to stop at Baby Gap Outlet, Gymboree, Children's Place and Carter's outlet. In my book, it doesn't get any better than that.....

High School Boys Are Stupid......

I think this is a well-known common fact, but having a high school girl I am reminded of this fact almost daily!!!! They are selfish, immature and just plain stupid!!!! They don't think before they talk or act and they forget how sensitive high school girls can be. I have raised two high school boys, I know they did a lot of STUPID things, even when I tried my best to keep them from doing it, and teaching them to do differently. Good news is they grow out of it one day, bad news, next year I have a high school boy of my own.

It's all written in the stars......

Tonight I was at dance, helping moms....answering questions(always plenty of those), directing traffic(yes, you are still in that studio tonight), taking money(never enough of that), when I had a mom tell me the funniest thing I have ever heard in my 13 years teaching dance. She had just bought her daughter new dance shoes and they had arrived, so I went to give them to her....She leaned over the counter and very seriously asked me if I believed in astrology? Being the tactful person I am, I sorta laughed and said no. Well she continued to explain, her astrologist(really? I'm not making this stuff up) told her its a bad year for her daughters health and she should not buy her ANY new shoes. Did I know someone that would take her daughter's new shoes and trade them for their old ones? Hmmm, I said, I'll see what I can do.

A Name and a Blessing

We made a quick trip to Utah this weekend for Emree's Blessing. Tyler gave her a beautiful blessing and a name Emree Andre, which means honorable. She really is one lucky little girl with two very smart, intelligent, kind, loving and honorable parents. She is growing and changing and beginning to respond and smile. We enjoyed time with Tyler's family and my family and the baby of course. WE listened to conference and Reid and Jordan went up for the afternoon session and Easton joined them for priesthood. We had a precelebration dinner at PF Chang's as well. It's a long drive but worth EVERY minute!

Little Miss 'Em'

The best part about this last weekend is that Danielle and Baby Emree came for a visit. We were way to busy and the stay was not near long enough but we tried to enjoy every minute and really she just couldn't be more PERFECT!!!!!! Her mom's pretty great as well....
