All's Well That Ends Well....

Aunt Kenzie was very unhappy when MOM decided she could not got to Utah with us to see Danielle and the new baby. I decided it would not be a good idea for her to miss school (three days) dance and drill team practice (two days) and performances (two...) (Thank heavens she did not come because she would have had to go and come home without seeing the baby like Reid.) But I felt bad and I wanted her to see Baby Emree and Danielle as much as she did (SHE DID NOT BELIEVE ME!) I decided to stay longer than originally planned since Emree came a week later than we had expected (or hoped) and since I was going to be there, on a whim I decided to make Mackenzie a flight on Sunday and fly her home with me on Monday. I called Mackenzie with the surprise. She didn't believe me at first but was excited to come (brownie points for me....). We decided to keep it a secret from Danielle.

Mackenzie had to get her self to the airport in Spokane. (She has never driven out of town.) She had to find the airport, park the car in the parking garage, check herself in and pick up her bag, where Jordan was going to pick her up and bring her to Danielle's. Not particularly easy but doable right? She got to the airport, (only one missed exit), she parked the car in the parking garage, (well almost---just a few 100 yards away and a long walk), she checked herself in, (wait, I told her her flight was on Alaska Airlines, but it was Delta), she checked her self in at the right counter, (umm, her flight was for yesterday---thank heavens the flight had room for her) she paid for her bag, (nope, didn't bring any money). This is where it all got tricky. She called me in tears. I told her to get back in line and hand her cell phone to the Delta employee. I told him we would need to pay her baggage over the phone with credit card....he told me no. This was not their policy. Hadn't I read their website? This policy been posted for over six months. (Yeah, in my spare time I read the Delta website fine print...) I asked if I could speak to a supervisor. Sunday, no supervisor. I started to cry (Kenzie was already crying). I asked him if I could borrow the $15 dollars and mail it to him and an additional $50 tomorrow.) I think this is when he began to realize I was desperate. He took my credit card number over the phone. She arrived and we surprised Danielle. The visit was short but well worth it. Kenzie's going to be a great Aunt.

WE did however miss our plane on the way home---(long story) and got to stay an extra night.

Here our a couple of more pictures from our visit with Emree.

You "Grandma's" look way to young to be Grandma's!!! You and Kathy both have such fun airline stories!!! I am always TOO early and have 2 of everything (not good)!!! That is the most precious baby...can't wait for 46 days till Stacy has her little girl! C-Section have their disadvantages but it sure helps with scheduling! Life is Good!!!
