8 and half months pregnant with Jordan
7 months with Quinn
Danielle 8 months pregnant....
My daughter Danielle has 5 weeks to go before being a mother and I was just thinking of some of the benefits I bet they haven't even thought of:
AutoRock: You know the obligatory parental sway you begin the second you have a baby in your arms, rocking side to side to keep them asleep or still or quiet...the problem is you do it even when your not holding them. I think it can be considered exercise right?
Extra Sensory Hearing: In a large group of people you will be able to distinguish your babies cry from all the other noises. And you will know why they are crying, their wet, their hungry, their teething. Don't all the cries sound alike? Not to their mother.
Strong Stomach: After changing a million diapers, wiping a zillion runny noses and cleaning up lots of baby spit up and vomit a mom gets tough. Little things no longer bug you at all.
Acceptance of all bodily functions: You begin to appreciate burps, and farts and talk about gas and bowel movements all the time. Look at it this way, you will never run out of things to talk about...
Magical kisses: Only mothers have the power to take the sting out of physical and emotional bruises with a simple kiss. (Sorry dads...)
Awakens Instantly: You will no longer sleep soundly for long periods of time. Even if your baby sleeps for several hours you will awaken and wonder why are they not awake yet? Good news is all the bathroom trips in the middle of the night while pregnant have somewhat prepared you for this.
Larger love capacity: A mom never runs out of love. She has plenty for everyone and EACH child is her favorite in some way. You never think you'll love another as much, but you do EACH time.
Seriously motherhood has been the best thing in my entire life, and I can't wait for Danielle to be a mother. She is going to be a wonderful one.....

haha those pictures are hilarious. I may beat you on the hugeness of the belly, but you definitely beat me on the outfits! I can't wait to be a mom!
Amen! It's amazing all the new things that you learn, acquire, relearn, appreciate and stuff when you become a mother. Congrats to Danielle and tell her that after the 2nd one your love just grows! (it doesn't have to be shared) :)
So cute! And I love yoru outfits Lori. I am so excited for Danielle! And yuo're going to be a grandma!!!
You have such a great way of expressing your self. I love that list of things that happen the minute you become a mother. I wish I could express what instantly happens when you become a grandmother. One thing is you love that baby as much as your own, but you know it isn't your job! How liberating! Love just grows, but the job is much easier! And cute! No one has cuter grand kids as you do! That is why I don't carry pictures, I don't want people to be jealous. Oh wait, they won't be, because theirs are cuter, right?
I second the motion! Danielle is going to be a great mom and it is the best job in the world!!
Ahh the joys of motherhood! Can't wait to meet the newest little baker!
Your list is excellent, but I have to disagree with one thing - body fluids. I have never grown used to throw-up or snotty noses or runny pooh. I've just come to accept them, plugging my nose and breathing shallowly until it's cleaned up. Yuck!
Good luck Dani!
I loved reading this post it couldn't hit home harder right now. In fact our new little baby has captured so much of my time that I have completely neglected blogging. You're right about a mothers love growing more and more, it is just too bad that our days can't grow as well.
