It's Not As Easy as It Looks.....

We have been working hard getting our numbers ready for competition. I think when someone does something well they make it look easy. Recently I watched the swimmers. I was amazed how easy some of them made it look. We hope you watch our numbers thinking that looks easy....I could do that. This Saturday is our first competition in Sunnyside. We are ALMOST ready. WE have three numbers we are taking. POM--the competition number is not quite ready so we are taking one of our football pom numbers. The goal is to receive a qualifying score. We have two attend two competitions and receive qualifying scores for district. Then we have to attend districts and receive a qualifying score for State.

The second number is Hip Hop. This is my most challenging number. I know you'll be suprised but hip hop dance is somewhat out of my element. Two years ago the girl's won State and last year they won Nationals....(no expectations). I came up with the idea. Danielle started the choreography. It was tweaked by Peggy, Kacey and Courtney, and me again. Friday night we performed it at the girl's basketball game to a completely full gym. They did a great job.

Our third number is Drill/Military. The girls love this style and their very good at it. My son Jordan found the first song and I put it with 'Sweet Dreams'. It's always a collective effort. The captain and co-captains did alot of the choreography. And then I tweaked and changed it. The second headstand in the number is NOT easy.... I am keeping my fingers crossed for Saturday. We will be performing Weds. night at Big Bend as a dress rehearsal.

Wish us Luck....

Come on, like balancing on your head for a significant length of time while moving your feet in synchronization is that hard?! :)

Can't wait to see the final results!

I wonder if their school work is improving with all that extra blood flowing to their brains? Little do the girls know - it's not a sport... it's research!

I LOVE their costumes. So cute, and I bet they look awesome from the audience perspective. You are just so cool, I love that you are the drill coach. I bet the girls love having you. It would be fun if you could put the video clips up.
