The luckiest boys in the world
I'm waiting up for Mackenzie to come home from her very first high school dance. I love waiting up for the kids and listening to them tell the details of their evening. For some reason they are much more talkative after midnight, compared to 9:00 a.m. Because Mackenzie's birthday is in June she spent her sophomore year watching her friends go to dances. Tonight it's her turn. It's homecoming and she got asked a few weeks ago by Lewis Bruneel. Tonight she looked so beautiful and I have to say her date didn't look to bad either (yes, he really is 16).
I can honestly remember my first date to Homecoming my sophomore year like it was yesterday. It happened to fall exactly on my birthday and my sister lined me up on a blind date with her boyfriend's cousin. He came to the door and all I can remember was what an ugly mustard yellow sweater he was wearing. I remember thinking I hope its hot inside the dance so he has to take the sweater off. Dinner was painful and I think he may have said 5 words. My sister and her boyfriend did not double with us... We arrived early to the dance and watched the band finish setting up. (Yes, in those days they had live bands, and you actually danced the whole evening with the boy that asked you to the dance....) After being at the dance for about a half hour, I went to the bathroom and when I was zipping up my dress the zipper broke and I was stranded in the bathroom. Someone went out and found my date and told him the situation and they came back in with his ugly mustard yellow sweater to wear over my dress with the broken zipper. What a night. I hope Mackenzie's evening goes better than mine.

I did not see that ending coming from the beginning. What a classic story.
Mackenzie looks beautiful. Lewis looks great as well. What a fun, fun pair.
THAT is a good story. Happy first date to you.
Yay I'm glad you started a blog! This will be such a fun way to keep in better touch. I hope to see you guys soon! Do you know when you are coming next??
Now THAT is a funny story. Sorry but it cracks me up. I cringe when I think of some of my experiences. Ah the days. Mackenzie looked gorgeous!
Oh the girls looked so beautiful, didn't they? I loved Kenzie's dress. I can't believe how much she looked like Danielle to me. Time goes so fast. Ugh.
