Recently we spent a Saturday in Seattle cheering on the BYU Cougars against the University of Washington Huskies. (My dad would have been so proud.) From my limited knowledge, BYU has played the Huskies 3 times in that stadium. I have been in attendance all 3 times. The first time was many years ago, Reid and I took a road trip from Utah with college friends. The first play of the game BYU ran back the kick-off for a touchdown and as Reid jumped up to cheer he came down on the edge of the stair and twisted his ankle. It was a long game, with that first play being the best play of the game for the cougars. We LOST! and sulked out of the stadium. The second time was not so many years ago, but we lost and sulked out again. This time--we came to win. We had the whole family and sat in the nose bleed section with the rest of the BYU fans. But it didn't matter. WE played hard, we played well and we WON! Sister Earl is by far my favorite football fan. If she's not too old....neither am I.

Oh, I agree! Ludeen can outcheer the most zealous zealot. I love her enthusiasm...I love the spark that comes to her eyes before a game...I love watching her eat her popcorn. In short, she makes the game successful win or lose.
