Because we had some spare time on our hands, Christmas morning Reid surprised the family with a puppy. She's a yellow lab. We named her Tanna, after the island Quinn is on. She's adorable and playful and messy. She pees a lot and barks a lot and whines a lot. But she is hard to resist. We were never too good at potty training, apparently you can't teach an old dog new tricks, we are still not very good. Anybody have any good ideas?
It was a fun christmas. Jordan got a new shotgun. Safety first, right? Kenzie got some new kicks and a karoke game for XBOX 360 call 'Lips'. I highly recommend it. Good job, SANTA! Easton got snowboarding gear and a pass to Mission Ridge.
Unfortunately this is a picture of Easton the day after Christmas....4 runs down the mountain, one seperated shoulder....so much for the pass. It was fun while it lasted.

cutest puppy ever!~ Can't wait to see her in person. ....I can not believe how accident prone we are.
Oh that is a cute puppy. Poor Easton. Easton is just trying to fit in with the family.
I should clarify that he's trying to fit in with an injury. I just keep thinking of Quinn and his arm!
I guess my puppies were just too small for you rambunctious, accident-prone family! Sure is cute, though!
Poor Easton!
love your puppy, Cory is the pro at potty training dogs. We have 2 dogs both under 2 years old and we have only had 3 wet accidents in 18 months of living here. He says we all take a day of being on the puppy duty, at first while she is so young take her out to potty all the time and reward her with love when she goes. Sleeping is another thing she is so cute so this may be hard but putting her in a kennel cab works the best while she is so young (she wont want to pee in that) and take her out first thing in the morning. I hope this helps just be consistent and it will all work out. Good luck
What a cute puppy! Don't you love puppy breath? I second what Horton said, crate training is the easiest way to potty train. The pup is only out of the crate when someone is directly watching her, out to potty right before going in, and after coming out. Lot's of praise and love for rewards. And of course outside after eating. How fun for you guys. I would have as many dogs as I could care for if Paul would let me.
Oh my, you are not kidding. More, more work. But she sure is cute. Love the picture of Easton with the puppy. And of course Easton would seperate his shoulder on the first day skiing. *sheesh*
Oh what an adorable puppy! I am so jealous and I want one NOW! How cute!!!!! Congratulations! : )
She is the sweetest little thing. She looks like she fits right into the family. Jen is right, you have to keep her in a kennel overnight, and when you're away. It's the only way they learn to hold their bladder. Good luck, and enjoy her.
Hi Lori, this is Sharon McConkie's daughter, Michelle. I just wanted to say that it's fun to see the pics of your family, and tell your husband I miss driving potato truck! Oddly enough it's one of my best memories of working! I guess I like the smell of dirt and watching the sun rise like my dad did! Very cute puppy! We got a white lab from someone but he's 2 yrs old and already house-trained and is the perfect watchdog, I just love labs. I had another lab puppy awhile before now and I had an impossible time trying to train him to not bark and bite my kids! That was when I realized I needed an already trained dog...luckily another family was willing to take on that puppy!! Good luck w/yours, it'll be worth it in the end!
